What to Expect From Therapy

We use a trauma-informed approach, as well as trauma-specific interventions.

In our sessions you’ll

  • Unpack how your work environment or injury has affected you
  • Get validation — you’re not imagining this, the stress and drain are real
  • Build practical tools to manage symptoms like low mood, sleep issues, worry, or fatigue
  • Regain a sense of control and direction so you can make informed decisions — whether that means returning to work or finding a healthier path

What Do I Need Before Booking a WorkCover Appointment?

There are a few important things to consider when booking an appointment with a WorkCover psychologist. We’ve included a checklist below:

  1. Approval from your WorkCover Case Manager: Your case manager is there to help keep track of your claim and pay invoices. You will need written approval from your WorkCover Case Manager (usually in the form of a letter) before you can access psychology services.
  2. GP referral paperwork and claim number: As part of a WorkCover requirement, we will need a copy of your GP referral, approval letter, and claim number before we can book in your first appointment.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team or your WorkCover Case Manager. We’re here to help!

Book Consultation
  • Do I need a referral or approval?

Yes. To access WorkCover‑funded psychology you’ll need approval from your WorkCover case manager and a GP referral with your claim number. We help guide you through what this looks like.

  • What conditions do you support under WorkCover?

Any psychological symptoms that arise from workplace incidents – PTSD, Adjustment Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Depressive Disorders.

  • Can I continue after the WorkCover period ends?

Yes. Many clients choose to transition into private or Medicare‑supported psychology after their WorkCover funding finishes — we’ll talk this through when the time’s right.

  • Are sessions only in‑person?

No — you can choose between in‑person (West Melbourne) or telehealth, depending on what works for you.
